Mother Goose Storytime

Since I’ll be at a Every Child Ready to Read Conference my boss will be doing an Emergency Storytime.  ES’s are storytimes in a bag with the books in them, the hand outs ready and crafts ready, in case I am sick or out of the office!  They come in really handy on days like these! And with a variety of storytimes to go the person performing storytime can choose whatever topic they are most comfortable with!

Songs

The More We Get Together
The more we get together, together, together.
The more we get together the happier we’ll be.
For your friends are my friends,
and my friends are your friends.
The more we get together the happier we’ll be.

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Baa, baa black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes, sir, yes sir,
Three bags full,
One for the master,
And one for the dame,
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane.
The Itsy Bitsy Spider
The itsy bitsy spider
Went up the waterspout.
Out came the rain
And washed the spider out.
Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain.
And the itsy bitsy spider
Went up the spout again.

Rhymes and Fingerplays

Wiggles
A wiggle wiggle here,
A wiggle wiggle there,
Wiggle your hands up in the air.
Wiggle your shoulders,
Wiggle your hips,
Wiggle your knees,
And move your lips.
Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle.
And wiggle some more –
And now lets sit down on the floor.

Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill went up the Hill (extend hands flat, palms down, and climb them up)
To fetch a pail of Water
Jack fell down and broke his crown (one hand falls quickly into lap)
And Jill came tumbling after (other hand falls jerkily into lap)
Up got Jack and said to Jill (raise on hand and then the other)

As in his arms he caught her (cross arms and hug shoulders)
If you’re not hurt, brush off the dirt (brush off clothes)

And then we’ll fetch the water.
S-l-o-w-l-y, s-l-o-w-l-y, up the hill (climb hands slowly)
This time they spilled no water
They took it home to Mother dear (close fist and carry pretend bucket)
who kissed her son and daughter. (kissing sound)

This Little Piggy
This little piggy went to the market.
This little piggy stayed home.
This little piggy had roast beef,
And this little piggy had none.
And this little piggy when wee-wee-wee-wee all the way home.

Five Humpty Dumpty’s
Five humpty dumpty’s sitting on a wall,
Five humpty dumpty’s sitting on a wall,
And if one humpty dumpty should accidently fall…
CRACK! (clap)
There’ll be four humpty dumpty’s sitting on a wall.

(Repeat until there are no eggs left.)

Little Miss Muffet
Little Miss Muffet
Sat on her Tuffet
Eating her curds and whey.
Along came a spider
And sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.

Clap, Clap, Clap your Hands
Clap Clap Clap your hands
Clap your hands together
Clap Clap Clap your hands
Clap your hands together.

Jump jump jump up high….
Spin Spin Spin around….
Wave wave wave goodbye….
