The More We Get Together
The more we get together, together, together.
The more we get together the happier we’ll be.
For your friends are my friends,
and my friends are your friends.
The more we get together the happier we’ll be.
Baby Bumble Bee
I’m bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me,
(Cup hands together as if holding bee)
I’m bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!
(Shake hands as if just stung)
I’m squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me,
(‘Squish’ bee between palms of hands)
I’m squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Ooh! It’s yucky!
(Open up hands to look at ‘mess’)
I’m wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me,
(Wipe hands off on shirt)
I’m wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Now my mommy won’t be mad at me!
(Hold hands up to show they are clean)
The Itsy Bitsy Spider
The itsy bitsy spider
Went up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
Now the itsy bitsy spider
Went up the spout again.
5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
Five little monkeys jumping on the bed.
One fell off and bumped his head.
Called the doctor and the doctor said,
“No more monkeys jumping on the bed.”
No more monkeys jumping on the bed.
Count down to zero.
Rhymes and Fingerplays
Wiggles
A wiggle wiggle here,
A wiggle wiggle there,
Wiggle your hands up in the air.
Wiggle your shoulders,
Wiggle your hips,
Wiggle your knees,
And move your lips.
Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle.
And wiggle some more -
And now lets sit down on the floor.
Five Little Squirrels
Five little squirrels with acorns to store.
One went to sleep and then there were four!
Four little squirrels hunting acorns in a tree.
One fell down, and now there are three!
Three little squirrels wondering what to do.
One got lost, and now there are two!
Two little squirrels tossing acorns for fun.
One got tired, and now there is one!
One little squirrel playing in the sun.
He ran away, now there are none.
Little Turtle
There was a little turtle, (Make small circle with hands.)
He lived in a box, (Make a box with both hands.)
He swam in a puddle, (Wriggle hands.)
And climbed on the rocks. (Climb fingers of one hand up over the other.)
He snapped at a mosquito. (Clap hands)
He snapped at a flea. (Clap hands.)
He snapped at a minnow. (Clap hands.)
He snapped at me. (Point at self.)
He caught the mosquito. (Hold hand up, palm forward; quickly bend fingers shut.)
He caught the flea. (Repeat.)
He caught the minnow. (Repeat.)
But he didn’t catch me. (Bend fingers only half-way shut.)
This Little Squirrel
This little squirrel said, Let’s run and play
(point to each finger following rhyme)
This little squirrel said, Let’s hunt nuts today
This little squirrel said, Yes, nuts are good
This little squirrel said, Yes, they are our best food
This little squirrel said, Come climb this tree
(hold up arm with open hand, run fingers of other hand upwards quickly)
And crack these nuts, one, two, three (clap hands)
Four Little Kittens
Five little kittens
Sleeping on a chair.
One rolled off,
Leaving four there.
Four little kittens,
One climbed a tree,
To look in a birds nest.
Then there were three.
Three little kittens
Wondered what to do.
One saw a mouse,
And then there were two.
Two little kittens
Playing near a wall.
One little kitten
Chased a red ball.
One little kitten
With fur soft as silk,
Left all alone
To drink a dish of milk.
Clap, Clap, Clap your Hands
Clap Clap Clap your hands
Clap your hands together
Clap Clap Clap your hands
Clap your hands together.
Jump jump jump up high….
Spin Spin Spin around….
Wave wave wave goodbye….
